pictures of my july

i love sunny weather, bright skys, blue water, wondering the town with little boys, seeing all the greenery at this time of the year
i now have just 4 lonely chickens. i donated two hens to bens cousins girlfriends little boy (well thats not a mouth full to say!) as theyd promised him chickens but couldnt find any to buy him. as a bonus i now have room in the cage for 2 red hens. theres just something about red hens, there super cute. cant wait to find some. finaly the girls are earning their keep again, after a few months of bought eggs (they stopped laying during the cold weather) were back to the good stuff again

aww, just cant get enough of these tiny shoes, so cute

my veggie patch is realy starting to look like a veggie patch, the plants are growing realy well. the weeds are growing realy well too as you can see. i swear if you look closely there are veggies among them!

a few words

my days at the moment are made up of meditation, reading inspiring books, yoga, trying my best to live slowly and thoughtfully.

im enjoying each day and soaking up lots of warm sunlight outdoors

my handstitched pinwheel is now being quilted together, i am much looking forward to starting on binding. i am truly proud when i look at my quilt and think about all the hours that have gone into it. i see patience and perseverance in myself that i didnt have before i started it. these things have slowly developed in me, a little with each craft project ive done over the years, each seed ive patiently waited to see sprouted. my hobbies are so good for me, for my personal growth. i am thankful for each life lesson i learn

remember when i started handstitching my pinwheel quilt way back here?

fair enough if you thought id given up on the hand stitching, believe me i was tempted a few times towards the start when the task ahead of me seemed more than a little daunting.

once i got far enough into and it felt possible that it might all come together i decided once again that i love hand stitching!

ive finished all the pinwheel blocks and its now coming together a lot quicker than i expected.

look forward to see pictures of the finished quilt soon!!

heres my little zen spot, nastursiums are climbing like crazy and im hoping for flowers soon as there my favourite part to eat. benny loves the nastursiums as weal, his nan used to feed them to him when he was a boy so they bring back fond memories. were eating lots of delicious peas. the little boy i look after is obsessed with them too

my veggie patch is going so great. ive been realy enjoying it lately. nothing like first bits of yummy produce to get you motivated to plant more!! gardening is kind of like exercise to me, when i get out of the habbit ive got to force my self get off my bum and get out their a few times and then im hooked and you couldnt keep me away if you tried

our beautiful grass is looking oh so lush and almost ready for picnic blankets. yes im still over excited about the grass, i guess thats what a few months of grasslessness does to a person!

the chickens have a nice clean home as of today. i cant get over how little their home smells. when i got them i though id be cleaning their home all the time, i was sure id heard that chickens stunk. ive seriously only cleaned their home once prior to today in the aprox 7months weve been here and i only did to get manure for the garden and compost.
