spreading the chickeny love

On the weekend i offered mum three of my chickens and the little cage me and Benny found at a garage sale to borrow. Her and dad have for a long time talked about wanting some chooks for their garden so i thought this would be the perfect introduction, borrowing them (if they like having them they will borrow them indefinitely)
Yesterday we took them to her house and they were mighty impressed with their new garden, full of new bugs and weeds to scratch away at.
It was a really fun day, we drove over in the morning, got goodies at the garden centre (veggie seedlings etc)
We ate subway at the park (mum and a rainbow, pretty pretty:)
And jumped for joy in new opp shop clothes (only my blue top, it was too cold to wear our other great finds)
And then we thought wed better get back to the chickens to see how they were getting on. We needn't have bothered, they were content and amused and behaving themselves just fine. Here's mums post on her new chickens
So we went inside and made some green smoothies (baby spinach, berries, apple) and sat outside to watch the chickens

sleeping next to you

I love the nights that we lay in bed talking until we say- realy, we are realy going to stop talking now, we need to go to sleep! (followed by, oh hold on ill just say this, and half an hour more conversation) I dont mind being tired the next day because its most deffinately worth it to spend time with you. Your worth it.
Some nights when i cant sleep the rhythum of your breath soothes me to sleep.
When were in bed we are almost always touching, even if its just out toes touching or we are facing opposite directions and our backs press together.
I love to kiss you between your shoulder blades, or lean over the back of the couch and snuggle into your neck

I love You

cloud gazing

My veggie garden is realy starting to get good now that its in its second year.
I love how mixy-un matchy it is, two bed are edged with rocks i found on the side of the road next to our house, two beds have lawn edging staked in place, the next will be bricks that mum has offered me from her garden (full of memories off all the garden beds shes mad with them over the years!) I just need to pick them up next time i visit
The bed at the front looks empty but realy its full of tiny brand new seedlings that have started sprouting over the past few days. Soon they will turn into fresh carrots, beets, lettuces, spiniches, mmm i cant wait
I let my chickens out of their coop to do some garden exploring, and decided to do something i realy dont do enough of
Cloud gazing. When i was in highschool my friends and i would spend most of our lunchtimes on a patch of lush green grass so that i could lay and watch the clouds as we chatted and gossiped

love how filthy my feet are!

Im happy to have a few pretty pictures of my favourite shorts in action. when i was making these i had a feeling they would be good but i didnt realise just how much wear they would get. They were made as pyjama shorts but have become my favourite around the house, gardening, everything shorts. They make me feel bohemian blissfully happy

summer (before the blog)

(various snippets of writing from my 'bubble' journal, 2004/2005/2006is. Some bits are my original words, others i heard or read, i honestly dont remember whats what anymore)

(words below from aug 06)

"my goal at the moment is to do something to enjoy appreciate each day. I want to live in the moment and live consciously, put in effort, exercise, eat well, be fun, still, vibrant."

I found the little piece of paper today with writing so light i can barely read it.
The ink is almost gone, faded from the sunlight that streamed through my old bedroom window, where it was blue tacked in a spot i could read it every day.
I can just make out the words still, it reads-

Even if im feeling good when i look into
your eyes I always feel better
Thanks for being you dude,
Love dad

i love new camera lenses!

For my birthday Benny bought me two camera lenses, a 28-80mm and a fish eye. He always knows just what to get me. I've known for a long time that i wanted a new lens, but had no idea what lenses did what. Benny asked me what i wanted it to do and did all the research to figure out what lenses would suit me best. Isn't he just the greatest!

Ive been playing with the 28-80mm all week and a package slip for the fish eye arrived in the post this morning. Me and the boys i look after, excitedly wandered to the post office (me, excited because of my package slip, them because they knew id take them to 'pay gwound' afterwards)

Once id picked up my new favourite toy we all headed to the playground for a play

This is the main reason i wanted these lenses, to be able to take pictures inside. The 50mm (very zoomed in lens) that i had just didn't cut it!
I've wanted photos of my home, as i know we wont be here for too long (saving to buy a house) and want to have photos of mine and Benny's first home together as i know they will be special to look back at. Just like i love looking back at my old bedroom.
This is my kitchen/dining room area

The view from the kitchen of the dining area/kids play area. Look Oma, I'm still appreciating the roses you gave me from your garden on my birthday (most of them are a little dead now though but ill keep them a little longer:)

Our (messy) lounge room

My craft room doubles up as the kids sleep room, here it is set up as sleep room. Pics of it as craft room to come (when no ones sleeping there!

these birds are flying because Benny through a rock at them. 'for photographic purposes' (and perhaps because the little boy in him likes seeing birds scatter into the sky:)

love love love:) this ones needs to be big on my wall, i knew it as soon as i saw it
On the way home we went searching for garage sales. we found some good ones.Oh happy happy Monday

twirl like no-ones watching

These photos are the real me, the me i know i am.
I twirl when nobodies watching. I have done for as long as i can remember.
I do cartwheels on sand and walk in water, even when its painfully cold (you will know what i mean by 'painfully cold' if you try it. Your feet get slightly numb instantly and you really need to keep moving to make them happy again)

My hair has never been this long before (because I've always been to impulsive to grow it. Every time it grows i need a little change and cut it off again)
Its good for twirling.
I love it and hope i don't get impulsive any time soon. But i mite, really i cant say one way or the other.

I love light beaming through trees and open windows. Lately I've been spring cleaning for the fun of it and feeling inspired to decorate our home so that it feels light and new and fresh.

I love where i am right now. Today was a good day, a really good one. Not because of anything in particular that happened, but because of the way i saw it. Full of joy.

I am most excited about an up and coming camping trip. I love having something to look forward to.

(a jounnal entry i wrote on 26.6.06)
''I go swimming in winter because it makes me feel alive, spontanious, crazy. It makes me feel like i am me. Because when im not full of life I couldnt bring myself to be that cold, i just want to be i my comfort zone.Being out of my comfort zone is rewarding. Some of the greatest things happen to me when im out of my comfort zone."

21

I love this post from when i was 20 so this is my21 version.
Me, as i am today.
Who i am,
the person I've grown into in the past two years since 20.

This is me, forever the free spirit, forever the explorer, forever learning more about myself and feeling more comfortable in my skin as i grow into myself.
Because I've always felt like an old soul, and been told i was one. In fact mum tels me of people who made this very comment when i was just a baby.
The main defining parts of my life lately have been-

Truly living with Benny.
Not just moving into this cute little house of ours, but living each day together for the past 18 months. Its been fun, its been challenging, we've learnt our roles in this new phase of our relationship. People told me living together would be hard, which sometimes it has been. But no one ever told me how amazing it would be to wake up next to him every morning, and still feel the love i felt the first time i decided i loved him, only so much deeper in my soul. I guess no one could have known how happy we would be right now

Trying for a baby and the 'hiccups' along the way.
Its been over a year since we decided we were ready for our baby. Finding out i have pocs was definitely one of the toughest and most scary moments of my life. My heart wanted to break in two, but my soul wouldn't let it. Because my heart is too important to me, i need it to love, because without love i just wouldn't want to be. All these months later i feel OK about it all. Well as OK about it as a person could. We will see a fertility specialist in October, and my cycles have righted themselves (perhaps because I'm stressing less, as I'm just so used to the negative pregnancy tests)I know that we will have a baby eventually, now i feel calmly patient

I feel at home in this town of ours.
I love that the mail man knows me, the lady at our local shop chats to the kids i look after and asks how they are when i go in without them. Yesterday she crossed the road to tell me that my flier (advertising my day care) had blown down and shed been meaning to see me to see if i had a new one i wanted to put up. Everyone i meet seems to know who i am because they know Benny or his parents. Small towns are nice like that.
Its taken me a long time to come through a bit of a fog.
A fog that has been-settling into my new life.
Living somewhere that i wasn't quite used to
Most of all not being able to get pregnant straight away, when it felt like id already waited a lifetime looking for the right person for me, waiting until we were ready for this baby.
Slowly over time I've felt better and better and now most days are happy days for me filled with beauty and appreciation for all the wonderful things i have in life. Slowly I'm feeling inspired more often. Taking care of myself more gently. Turning off the lulling TV and going outside instead. Seeing beauty and truly being able to feel it in my soul. Feeling love and joy.

My 21st year wasn't as carefree as my 20th, i had some deep things that weighed me down in a constant niggling way. That being said, 21 was a great year for me in so many ways

Really, i couldnt ask for more in a day
