Home!

I love it here soooooooo much. I'm feeling so thankful and happy today. The movings over, I got approved for day care today, now I just get to soak it all in, start my new rhythums and routines, and ignore the boxes in the spare room.
I've taken some photos. I've mostly focused on setting up for day care because I had new families visiting and the approval to get ready for so I wont show you our lounge room which is still a mess. I definitely wont show you the previously mentioned spare room!
My kitchen window overlooking the back yard. after having no kitchen window for 2 years doing dishes doesn't seem so bad when I can look outside to trees and green grass:)

Off of the kitchen is a little day care eating area. I didn't really need a big pantry cupboard so it's full of art and craft supplies. Much more important than food right? (the food is of course in a different smaller cupboard)
one play stand is finished and the other still needs to be glued. In the mean time the kitchen makes a good other side. Yesterday some of the new children came for a half day settling in session. It was soooo sweet seing them snuggle in under the blankets with dollies. I imagine it will be a great place to lay and read books to them too. They love the kitchen, I ate lots of pretend cakes and pancakes
the other side of the room. Isn't the picture on the wall sweet:) Maddalyn made it as a going away present. I miss the Port Wakefield children, I saw Maddalyn already the other day and got a big cuddle and we will be visiting Benny's parent in Port Wakefield so i'm sure ill see them around the town:)
 The day care sleep room

Our table. I'm sure you can see why the day care children have their own little table now- I wouldn't want to imagine the mess they would make eating and crafting over carpet!:)
 a neat little bathroom
with a lovely windowsill perfect size for some pot plants

walk through robe (its between the bathroom and our bed room) the other side is bigger but I gave it to Benny because he has way more clothes than me:) I don't like to hang things so I've got my old craft cupboard in there
Our bedroom (nope we don't have a bed)
Out the back I have four half barrels and the boat to use as veggie patch. With me having 2 weeks off work and day care new house safety expenses I haven't had spare money to buy dirt and plants but Oma and Opa gave me some house warming present money. I was going to plant herbs but as you can see flowers won my heart at the garden center:) They are so bright, cheery and definitely house warming. I love to look out my windows at them all day. The shared veggie patch at my parents is big enough to grow all we need so these beds are mostly just to look nice and for day care children to plant anyway so now they can pick flowers for vases or their sand castles

the new/old veggie patch

Lately I've found myself back in my very first veggie patch at mum and dads. I could have chosen a different spot in their garden or changed the shape to something more creative than a booring old rectangle but I didn't really even question either as possibilities. I just laid down the bricks just as they used to be and reminisced on former lazy days
the 'before' side, grass had to be pulled up which is hard work. Mum, Dad and I have been tackling a bit each time I visit
I decided not to do a proper veggie patch at our new house. We don't know how long we will be there so I id rather make use of this already worked soil. It will be more fun gardening with my parents anyway. When I moved out 5 years ago Mum joked about not wanting her 'gardener' to move out. Now ill be back and gladly helping them tame their huge garden
the first two beds have been prepared and planted
We have planted potatoes, beets, cucumbers, spring onions so far. Soon they will be sprouting
this is next to it. Its a before photo, im planning on tidying it up and planting some bits and pieces. I've started cutting back the dead under growth of the lavender bushes to make a natural cubby for the new apple blossom kids that will visit with me
Only 3 days until we get the new house keys and begin to move in.
Were been busy packing, cleaning, taking loads of  our things to my parents to store for the week.
I've been feeling excited and overwhelmed

and a new year begins

I cant remember why I got out this sheep skin, its usually in the sleep room, but its been the source of much 'bed time' play
mishka was worn out from a long day of napping on the couch so he had a rest in the play kitchen oven
this scene, tutu, my hat, hand bag, taking a car for a walk in the doll pram just about killed me with cuteness:)
M's 'dragon called Steven'. He played with this a whole afternoon. I love him, hes still going, even though i really need the pegs for my washing
A special package came for me in the post, all the way from Holland!
Thankyou Yvonne, I love it all, especially the tiny pink fairy. I so love tiny things!
I cant wait to decorate the new house with my beautiful goodies
for the new house i've been painting these half barrel pots. I like them unpainted but they are old and starting to fall apart so i'm trying to keep them going for a bit longer. The barrels plus our current sandpit boat (it will be filled with dirt as a garden bed, there will be a different sand pit) will be the main veggie patch at the new house. My main veggie patch is at my parents house, ill share photos of it soon
While I was out side taking this picture the chooks wanted to say hello
our house is slowly being taken over by packing boxes. just a week until we move! But wait a second, there were more dolls packed in that cradle...

they seem to have snuck back into the girls beds,it looks like they're hiding so I won't notice:) The beautiful green doll is made by Steph and much loved. Nothing else would do the other day for poor little Maddalyn who was feeling miserable and it turned out had a bad ear infection the other day. She just needed her  'green baby' (don't mind all the miss matching sheets, there all thrifted in bits and pieces)
Ive been making some finger puppets to go with some summery songs for meal times

and an easter/spring one to be put away for now. the egg is open at the top and bottom so the chick can hide and then pop out
