This week I've been making lots of festive stars.
Ive made a garland of these stars
I also re-filled these star candle holders with sweet smelling beeswax. This is my tricky pouring-boiling-wax-while-looking-through-camera-view finder photo
In case your wondering, yes I did over fill them and have to pry the pegs out. All good!
Ahh pretty
for yarn along I will share these knitted play veggies even though I already blogged them the other day.
Links to the patterns-
Mushroom-
Radish
Cucumber
Carrot- loosely based on this pattern (I changed it to be more pointy)
Tomato- made up (yet to get around to the green top)
Corn (the half done yellow thing!)
Little M had the greatest time washing his hands (and the bathroom vanity!) today for a good half hour. A bar of soap can provide endless entertainment

Beautiful! Where did you find your nativity?
Where to start? I love the stars (I've bookmarked the page!), I love the candles (I can smell the beeswax), and I love your vegetables. What a lovely post!
The stars are wonderful! Great job! And those veggies? Adorable!
So much beauty straight from your heart as always, Karen. I always feel uplifted visiting you here.
I love the stars. My daughter is wondering how you all decorate for christmas down there- with the whole seasonal thing being different. What types of natural decorations mean christmas time to you? We'd love to know.
Hey Karen,
I just love the way you are living your good life! Your home and garden are looking beautiful and full of love ;0) I wish I could have a bunny but you're not allowed to in QLD - I had to laugh at that photo of him in the rocker - you really captured that dizzy feeling. I just read a book called "The Peaceable Kingdom" where a man raised a whole lot of animals together to see if they could be friends. The rabbit was very private at first but became best friends with the cat. It was really cute - he came right out of his shell. A nice read. I love your sewn bunny too, inc his face. I always wanted to sew Kees a little blue Peter R. coat - I still have the fabric but I never got around to it. :0( I totally sympathise with your goal to somehow reconcile Christmas and summer time - I would love to see more posts about what you come up with!! Everything Steiner is often so northern hemisphere focussed. YOu have to create your own traditions in a relatively new society like Aus. Anyway, I better not "rabbit" on for too long! xo
I think these decorations are absolutely exquisite. I am with you 100% on the strangeness of summer and Christmas in Australia. I've been here so long and I still mull it over each year. I knew I was a real Australian when the smell of jasmine started to mean that Christmas was coming. But I still find myself listening to carols about snow and looking longingly at snowy pictures on other people's blogs. So it's gorgeous to find a magical one like yours, located in my own hemisphere to inspire me!
Thanks so much for the message, Karen!
The veggies are adorable! I love your stars. I would love it if you would share at my sharing party at http://craftymomsshare.blogspot.com/2011/12/sharing-saturday-10.html. Thank you!
I love the veggies. I'm planning on knitting some fruits and veggies for my daughter's Easter basket this year.
