also while i was away i found this beautiful tree and just couldn't seem to walk past... so it came home with me. it is my house warming present to myself/christmas tree/christmas present from aj. Im going to make some felt christmas ornaments and have a go at needle felting something for the top (not sure how its going to balance on top but ill work something out hopefully)
it reminds me of this mr magee tree that is so farmilliar to me (i used to have to read it to twins i look after to get them to sleep. wasnt so fun at the time but now it is a fond memory. i have had them the longest and will miss them verry much so it is nice to take a special reminder if them with me when i move in just 6 weeks time
YAY you finished your sock! congrats, it looks great. i told you you could do it :)
ReplyDeleteI love your tree, so glad you did end up buying it coz its very KJ.
It will look fantastic in your new house (when you find one) with some home made xmas decos. Hope you can find some cute lil fairy lights to put on it too.
Im gonna send you an email so dont forget to check it soon.
Love AJ xoxoxo
P.S. oooh your tree looks great sitting on your gorgeous bargain market table
ReplyDeleteyea, fairy lights for my little tree would be the cutest thing ever!
ReplyDeletewell done karen! i'm too scared to knit socks. i read the pattern and then figure that it's way too hard for me! it looks great.
ReplyDeleteso glad you avoided the chicken poop - it's really not a nice feeling when you step in something like that.
i love your tree too - can't wait to see it decorated.

levin-well, when we get together for me to learn your cool pinwheel like quilt ill teach you to knit socks. it was tricky to do from the tutorial but now that i know how, its so easy (the second sock i seriously only looked at the pattern like 3 times!)
ReplyDeleteThat tree is amazing! Where did you find such a gem?
ReplyDeleteThe tree is fabulous! Reminds me of the Tree of Life...
ReplyDeleteCan I get in on the quilt-pinwheel classes?? I have a jellyroll now, but starting is always a bit scary :(
And you did a sock!! I cast on for a sock once, but didn't get past the first row. I can do fingerless gloves in the round, but apparently the very idea of a sock is too fright-inducing!!
leanne, i got my tree at a shop called canopy home fasion at Centro Colonnades, adelaide SA. ph no is 08 8384 2110 if your interested. its called the 'tree of life' it also sais AMALFI which i presume would be the company that made it?
ReplyDeletethanks for stopping by:)
madi, yay, we can learn to make pinwheel quilts together, that will be so fun! and then perhaps all knit some socks. sounds like a buisy buisy fun fun weekend to me!!
