the garden is my absolute happy place.
I've been spending too much time inside and starting to feel a little stressed so yesterday afternoon i went into the garden... and honestly would have stayed there forever if the sun
didn't disappear. the veggie patch was looking a little unloved so i swept the paths, pruned away dead leaves,
discovered many
caterpillars munching on leaves (the chickens got a tasty treat). i feel so relaxed in the garden, everything is slow and has a soothing rhythm.

i dug up potatoes,
gathered basil for pesto, lettuce,
nasturtium leaves, garlic chives and beetroot for salad and we made a yummy little tea and ate it outside

this morning i got up and just felt so fantastic. i need to spend more time in the garden. just being.
where is your happy place?

looking forward to tonight, 5.00 we go see the house, fingers crossed it is just perfect for us, i cant wait to check it out! and then we are going swimming, i bet the water will be so warm after the last two days!
HEEEEEEY, thats my green bowl!!! Im glad you enjoyed using it to eat your awesome home grown dinner outside :)
ReplyDeletewe had a great night last night too. when kane got home from work we got mia and some boogie boards and went to the beach. it was so lovely and warm. i tried body boarding for the 1st time and kinda sucked but it was heaps of fum. mia chased the dogs all over the beach, shes such a terror haha. shes getting much less afraid of the water/waves now which is awesome. she doesn't go out very deep tho. cant wait to hear about your house, hope the inspection went well. im thinking of you and sending you best wishes that its a perfect lil 1st home for you both.
Love you lots, see you on the weekend xx
ooooh also i really look forward to trying some of your home made pesto mmmmmmm yum!
ReplyDeleteohhhh me too!! I love being outside.... in the garden, in the water, hanging out with my boys..... great post.
ReplyDeleteHow was the house?
ReplyDeleteI can symapthise with the being stuck inside, getting stressed and out of touch - not much garden here to get back in touch with though, just lots of ants, earwigs and cockroaches :(
But sometimes just hanging out with people who make you think and laugh and feel special can also be enough
HI karen,
ReplyDeleteThanx for your kind comments on my blog. Just wanted to pop by and let you know that the decals I used are vinyl and peel off with no damage to the walls.... they are even supposed to be repositional - is that a word?? - !! We are also renting at the moment and didnt have many options when it came to redecorating - we did a really funky space theme in wyatt's room.... let me know if you need some links.
