these are my two favourite books to read the kids at nap time. admittedly sometimes i read even after they've fallen asleep if its 'getting to a good bit'. I have so many memories of mum and dad reading me Enid Blyton books as a child, drifting of to sleep and having sweet imaginative dreams inspired by the adventures id been hearing about as i fell asleep
water babies is a nice one i found at an opp shop recently. beautiful pictures and beautiful story.

Goodness your tree just reminded me of a favourite childhood book "Go Dog Go"....I loved that last page.

Enid Blyton is the best, but when it is being read by your mum? That is like a triple chocolate icecream with cream and fudge sauce and chocolate chips! An all-time favourite childhood memory. That, and running amok with you guys during the holidays ;)

Old childrens book are tuggin at my heart-strings at the moment, and making me feel very nostalgic. So are cartoons and tv shows from the 80's. Like Rainbow Brite, and She-Ra :)

ReplyDeletewe used to go to the library every friday night and i could borrow two books. i would borrow peter rabbit and then the following week i would return it and the the next week i would borrow it again. it drove oma nuts - having to read it over and over again. after the library we went out and got an ice-cream or a donut. this is one of my all time favourite memories from my childhood. as i got bigger i love the faraway tree books and then the narnia chronicles.
and i loved judi bloom - absolutely fabulous!!

ooh, i loved berenstein bears and peter rabbit. and rainbow brite- madi i dont even need to tell you how much i loved rainbow brite coz we used to watch it together, good times:)
