Here's some photos of my lace scarf that was still pinned the other day. Ive never blocked anything before and now I remember why. Because I'm far too impatient to wait!
During one of many 'just checking to see if its dry yet' moments (because it might be dry an hour later right?:) I noticed my silly cat Mishka had was casually laying on the bed of pins so I moved him off. Next time I checked he was back there again, I guess it must have been a lot more comfortable than it looked
I just love how it looks now that its laying flat and stretched out. And better still now that I've weaved in the loose end pictured above:)
Oh yes, I think there will be more lace knitting in my future
Now I have something new and pretty to put on this cute coat rack Benny scored us for $20 the other day. When I can resist wearing it in this not quite cool enough weather that is

Your scarf look beautiful Karen. Best wishes for Adelaide Relay for Life; I lost my mother to cancer 11 years ago, April 10. Shortly after I did a sponsored mountain trailrun and thanks to many generous people managed to raise quite a bit of money. This horrible illness still touches and kills so many people.
ReplyDeleteWould love to hear all about your walk afterwards.
Gorgeous!! I really need to get some yarn to start mine........only must not spend more money on yarn just now! Grrrrr. I really like the colour you chose.
ReplyDeleteThe scarf turned out great! It's a really lovely pattern and beautiful yarn.

ReplyDeleteThe lace and the colour make it so delicate and beautiful. I don't always block, but lace really needs it. Yours looks beautiful.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! My cat likes to curl up on whatever I am blocking, drying, or basting (I quilt too). What is it with cats and hand work?

Wonderful job on the scarf, Karen! It is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteAnd Mishka is a lot like my kitties. For some reason damp yarn is quite attractive to them.
